Does my sister deserve a Christmas gift?

WIth Christmas approaching at a lightning speed, I am overwhelmed.
I took on the approach that I am only going to put as much effort into someone's gift as they put in with me in years past. The biggest culprit... my sister. Last year I bought her a custom Louis Vuitton purse with a matching wallet and keychain. What did she get me? A pair of shoes... Now that sounds fair, doesn't it?
So this year I bought her a pair of shoes. She has been sweet enough to send me a list of things that she wanted. Each costing well into the thousands of dollars. Nope. She got a pair of Adidas Originals sneakers and she can be thankful.
How do you guys divide your shopping duties among your family?
I always go wild for my mother because I love to surprise her and see her excited after I told her that I didn't buy her anything this year. And I love buying for my best friend. For her, I shop all year. Whenever she sends a message of something she likes or wants, I will tell her it is ugly and then go and purchase it for her so that she is surprised on Christmas.
Other than that, I just try to throw things together. It is time for me to make my annual Christmas list shopping day at the mall. Anyone else want to join me?
